Karen's beautiful paintings Karen has kindly painted two of our designs this year, the Christmas Tree and Christmas Reindeer. Here's Karen holding her Christmas tree design, with a photo of Aaron on the day he came out of hospital, and the third photo showing how Aaron is doing now, back at work thanks to his diagnosis. "My son Aaron was diagnosed 3 years ago after having an adrenal crisis, as many others, had been misdiagnosed. The group has given us confidence knowing we can ask questions and get up to date information. When I saw your request for Christmas card designs to be submitted, I thought as I painted, with a particular love of wildlife, maybe I could combine the two and give back by way of a few designs which may help to raise money towards research and so the Christmas Tree and Reindeer were born. It's been a pleasure being able to help in a little way. I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas especially after the last 18 months. Keep safe and enjoy. Cowering in her pen in the cat's protection shelter, all I'd seen of her prior to taking her home was her profile photo and her big beautiful eyes staring out from the darkness of her igloo bed where she hid on my visit to the shelter. Since then, she has transformed into the sweetest, cutest and, sometimes, mischievous cat. She's my shadow, a great companion and, now, even my home-working colleague during the pandemic. Members of the Glasgow social group probably know she loves a good Zoom call and she even attended this year's ADSHG AGM. Mya makes me laugh even on the hardes of days and has kept me smiling through health challenges over the past few years. I hope her sweet face can help the ADSHG spread some smiles over the festive season."
