It’s our 35th anniversary year and we’re planning a new approach for our Annual General Meeting – an Unconference. Open to all, the new unconference will start at 10am (but people are welcome to join us at any point during the day) and focus on a range of topics of interest to the Addison’s community.

We are delighted to be joined by Professor John Wass as our keynote speaker who will be talking about “Addison's Disease: Working together for a brighter future”, followed by a question & answer session.

Professor Wass will be joined by :

  • Dr Sofia Llahana, Senior Lecturer, City, University of London and Hon Consultant Nurse in Endocrinology, UCLH talking on e-health approaches to prevention of adrenal crisis
  • Nick Meade, Director of Policy at the genetics Alliance UK on how we get our voice heard amongst policymakers and politicians
  • Polly Marshall will be bringing us an update on our new Paramedic Training Project
  • Emergency injection training workshops
  • Birds of a feather sessions for T1 diabetes and online forum interest groups

New, for this year, we’ll be exploring the amazing contribution our community makes, with a couple of “fireside chats”. These panel sessions will bring together members of our community to explore parenting and caring for others with Addison’s, and a discovery of how Addisonians can take on extreme sports and challenges, whilst living well.

The official AGM will follow after the unconference proceedings and commence from 4pm. The AGM is open to members at no charge. If you book an UNconference ticket, that includes the AGM ticket and lunch.
