Complete the Adrenal Causes Together (ACT) COVID-19 survey to support international research.

COVID-19 has inflicted large-scale challenges for health care around the world. To help determine what this may mean for those living with all forms of adrenal insufficiency, Adrenal Causes Together (ACT) have developed this international survey to learn more about the impact of COVID-19. By combining responses from around the world, ACT hope to understand more about individual risks around adrenal crisis during this pandemic, and to identify treatments that will influence clinical decisions to improve care in the future.

Who can take part?

If you live with any form of adrenal insufficiency, are a relative, or a medical professional working with someone with this health condition, you are invited to participate in this survey. You do not have to have had COVID-19 to complete this survey.

How to take part

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and can be completed by clicking the link below. Thank you for your time and support into this research effort!

What is the ACT Panel?

The Adrenal Causes Together (ACT) Panel is a group of representatives from the world of endocrinology and adrenal causes from around the world. The ADSHG is a member of the ACT Panel and attends regular meetings with the panel (over video conference) to share knowledge and work on initiatives together to improve the lives of people with adrenal insufficiency.

Already the ACT panel is making a difference. On request of Associação Brasileira Addisoniana, ACT wrote an open letter to Endocrinologists and medical authorities in Brazil asking for specific support for those with adrenal insufficiency in receiving sufficient steroid medication and emergency injection kits. As a result and with the hard work of Associação Brasileira Addisoniana emergency injection kits are now being provided in Brazil  - a huge step in preventing hospital admissions and deaths, especially during COVID-19 where there is a higher risks of complications. The full article will be appearing shortly in our Winter 2020 magazine!

Who is included in the ACT Panel?

We also would like to thank the multiple Endocrine nurse specialists and Endocrinologists, who despite their busy work commitments, join ACT meetings and review and support ACT's work to promote excellence in clinical care of adrenal insufficiency throughout the world.

As part of the ACT, we look forward to continue contributing, supporting and learning with international groups in the future.
