As part of our drive to raise awareness of Addison’s Disease, we’ve started a project which will culminate with an exhibition and book - Facing Addison’s. 

The exhibition will feature photo portraits of people affected by Addison’s Disease, telling their stories. It will be an inspiring, uplifting and loving portrait of our community.  We’ll be featuring people for whom Addison’s is the least interesting thing about them.

Our collaborator is award-winning photographer Lucy Sewill, best known for her perceptive portraits of major British celebrities.  Lucy specialises in one-on-one informal portraiture.  Her work has been published world-wide and appeared in national newspapers and magazines.  Lucy’s work features in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery and has been exhibited at the Glastonbury Festival, The Ivor Novello Awards and Waterson Manor.

Lucy has captured many well-known faces - including David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Dame Edna Everage, Terry Wogan, Tony Benn, Kate Adie, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Phil Collins, Dizzee Rascal, Gary Kemp, Chris Difford, Bob Geldof, Midge Ure, Mark Knopfler and Tim Rice.

Lucy also happens to have Addison’s Disease, but is adamant that the condition does not define her.

The photo-shoots are in progress  We’ll be sharing further details of the public exhibition and book as the project progresses. The project paused in 2019 and has resumed in 2020.
