We are looking for help in providing support and information directly to the young people in our community affected by all types of adrenal insufficiency. Can you spare an afternoon to help?

Every year we organise two or more regional Member Get-Togethers: an opportunity for people with adrenal insufficiency of all types to get together in person, to meet each other and feel less alone with their condition.

As well as the benefits of meeting each other, around 100 attendees come along to hear from endocrine experts and have an opportunity to present questions.  Some members see their endocrinologist for just 10 minutes a year, or less, and so it is an incredibly valuable and appreciated chance to give them more relaxed contact with expertise and advice.

Invaluable support from endocrine experts

The information displayed here is from our Reading Member Get-Together in March this year, and is absolutely representative of what motivates people to attend.

To hear experts talk is always at the top of the 'Wish List' for attendees.

Focus on Young People with Adrenal Insufficiency

We have a number of young people (ranging from 1 year old to late teens) who have specifically requested that we facilitate an 'in-person' get-together.  We would like to offer them the opportunity to explore the issues that relate directly to them and their parents, but perhaps not to older adults with adrenal insufficiency.

From previous online events, we know that this can include topics such as:

  • puberty
  • nutrition & exercise
  • social life
  • school life
  • drinking alcohol
  • sex
  • secondary school and further education
  • first employment
  • adrenal crisis management

We are looking for someone to attend our Manchester event to enable us to advertise the event directly to our families and young people.

Format of the Day

Date: Saturday 26th September

Location: Manchester Conference Centre, Sackville Street, Manchester

  • Optional Injection Training (session before the main event)
  • Welcome (starts at 13.00)
