Get involved Volunteering Volunteering From its very beginnings on Deana Kenward's dining room table in 1984, the Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group has brought volunteers together to support anyone affected by Addison’s Disease and adrenal insufficiency. Volunteers continue to be vital to our work, as you can see from Deana, our Founder and Patron, still helping at events as pictured above! Donating even just a couple of hours a week allows the ADSHG to be able to provide the care and support everyone living with Addison’s or adrenal insufficiency needs. Volunteering is a great way to support ADSHG’s work, develop your skills and utilise your expertise. Every volunteer with ADSHG has a simple volunteer role description, which sets out what's involved, how we will support the volunteer and what we expect of each other. We advertise volunteering opportunities to our members via email, so if you’re not already a member please join us to hear more! If you would like to volunteer we have a number of areas which you may be interested in - have a look at our current opportunities. If you can't commit on a regular basis, you may like to help out as a social host at our local support groups or write for our members' magazine. We'd love to hear from you and your time would make a huge difference to the people that we support.
