About Addison's Disease Research Research Application The ADSHG funds Addison's disease and Addison's-related research through our research grants. Our grants allow us to work with researchers to improve the lives of people who are steroid-dependent – by investing in research projects to explore key research questions, and investing in people to develop the best endocrine researchers for the future. To apply for ADSHG assistance in a research project, we ask researchers to complete this questionnaire and return it, along with supporting documentation, for consideration by the ADSHG trustees and wider executive committee. Please click here to complete the questionnaire We encourage researchers to consider whether their research outcomes have any potential long-term benefit for people with autoimmune Addison's or more generally for people who are steroid-dependent. We ask that they are clear about the potential impacts of their research on participants. This means the potential for either personal benefit or growth, and psychological or physical harm. Supporting documentation should include any patient information sheets that will be offered to participants, a copy of the ethics application or approval, and the research grant application where relevant. For online questionnaires, please supply a Word or PDF file copy of the full questionnaire. Please allow 6 - 8 weeks for a decision from the trustees on any research application. Please note that the trustees will not ordinarily consider research approaches where the researcher has not sought ethics approval from their supervising institution. The ADSHG is unable to offer a fast track approval process for quick-turnaround questionnaires. If you have any queries, please contact us via our online form. Anyone wishing to make a charitable donation towards the work of the ADSHG in supporting medical research, can do so here. Thank you for your support and your interest in this important but sometimes overlooked field of endocrine research.
