Earlier this week members of the Addison’s community were dismayed to learn of the passing of Katherine White the indefatigable chair of the Addison's Disease Self Help Group for many years. Her lasting influence is apparent in the many ADSHG publications and online resources she inaugurated and authored and these invaluable sources of reference continue to resonate as the continuing global movement towards better care for those with the condition presses on.

Steering the ADSHG through a constantly changing landscape of healthcare reforms, changing expert opinion and charity governance while representing the varied lived experiences of our diverse community was not something for anyone to take on lightly. Katherine was one of those people who willingly volunteered and gave endless hours with the aim of helping the ADSHG thrive and endure.

Many members have already shared their memories of Katherine and how their self-management of Addison's was improved by the help and guidance she so generously provided. Her determination and relentless pursuit of results will never be forgotten.

Our Forum Moderator, Anne Benjamin, has begun a forum thread for our members in tribute to Katherine (requires an ADSHG forum login) where we are able to gather online to share our memories and condolences. It is also a place where members can seek support from friends at the ADSHG at this sorrowful time.

We know that you will all keep Katherine's family in your thoughts and prayers.
